Yes, it allows searching and sorting at the same time.
User can easily enable / disable the option of searching and sorting from backend.
You can also add multiple sort by parameters like Date, ID, Title, Random, etc. User can also add custom text and placeholder for sorting and searching.
It will displayed in Portfolio Designer >> Edit Layout >> Query Settings
